Syracuse attack Kevin Rice and head coach John Desko have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year and Head Coach of the Year, respectively, the ACC announced Tuesday.

The Orange has posted an 11-2 record and is coming off its first ACC championship in its second season in the conference. SU achieved the nation’s No. 1 ranking for the second time this season on Monday.

Rice, a senior and SU’s leading scorer, has dished 36 assists and tallied 4.9 points per game, the latter good for sixth in the country. The attack is on the Tewaaraton Award watch list and was named to the ACC All-Tournament team.

SU will face No. 13 Colgate (10-4, 6-2 Patriot League) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Hamilton, New York and start NCAA tournament play in early May.
