Shaw Dining Center re-opens after water pipe causes closure
Updated: Feb. 16, 2015 at 5:07 p.m.
Shaw Dining Center has re-opened after being closed for about three and a half hours due to a water pipe that burst.
Lynne Mowers, secretary to the director of Syracuse University Food Services, said in an email that the broken pipe caused a flood in the dining hall. A crew worked to repair the pipe and clean up the flood, Mowers said.
Keith Kobland, a media manager in the Office of News Services at SU, said in an email the dining hall re-opened around 4:30 p.m.
According to an email sent to residents of Shaw Hall and Oren Lyons Hall around 5 p.m., the dining center will be serving a limited selection for dinner Monday night. Full service hours will resume Tuesday, according to the email.
While the dining hall was closed, residents were asked to use Ernie Davis Dining Center.
Shaw Dining Center, located at 775 Comstock Ave., is open until 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and 6:30 p.m. on weekends.
