Gallery: Student Association hosts an evening of fall festivities

Student Association's Harvest Festival guests leave with pumpkins, satisfied appetites and good memories. From games and clothes, to warm food and pumpkin painting, the event had something for everyone to enjoy.

Members of the Writing and Rhetoric Student Organization practice their “Thriller” dance moves while encouraging guests to try their chili. Halloween-themed music, as well as tunes created by different student musical groups, filled the atmosphere.

Halloween-themed Otto the Orange runs around, dances and hugs attendees. People of all ages were present, including families.

Event-goers indulge in chili that was being served, alongside cornbread and toppings. The main event at the Harvest Festival was their Chili contest, where multiple student organizations entered their own unique recipe.

Attendees had the opportunity to exchange clothes and shop at Student Association's Clothing Flea Market. All proceeds went to Onondaga Earth Corps, which engages youth in their community and educates people about the urban ecosystem.

The Mandarins, an a cappella group at SU, won first place in the chili competition. Mock Trial and Philosophy Club took second place, while the Skate Club finished third.

Along with chili, the festival served warm apple cider donuts and hot chocolate.

Visitors compete with their friends in a game of giant cup pong. Frisbees, footballs and other games provided by the Barnes Center at The Arch were available for people to play with on the field.

As guests arrive at the event, they have the option of taking free vampire teeth, festive necklaces or other goodies home with them. Everything provided was free.
