Syracuse head coach Dino Babers has been named the Associated Press’ Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Coach of the Year alongside Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.
Swinney beat out Babers for the award as voted on by media within the conference, as Babers finished second in that vote.
No. 20 Syracuse (9-3, 6-2 Atlantic Coast) finished this regular season with its best record since 2001 when the Orange finished 10-3 after a bowl victory over Kansas State. Syracuse is one of three teams – the other two being Florida and Baylor – to increase its win total by at least five games this season from 2017.
Syracuse was projected to finish last in the ACC, but finished tied for second with Pittsburgh behind Clemson this season. The Orange will face No. 16 West Virginia in the Camping World Bowl in Orlando on Dec. 28.
