Syracuse University’s Ad Hoc Committee on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)/Undocumented Students created a webpage for resources DACA/undocumented students can use, the university announced on Friday.

The webpage offers contact information for on- and off-campus support, including admissions, academic advising, counseling, legal support and multicultural student organizations.

DACA is a program that defers deportation for undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children.

Chancellor Kent Syverud created the committee in 2017, after President Donald Trump considered ending the DACA program. The program’s future remains uncertain.  

The online resource created by SU be committed to addressing issues from students of “mixed status” families, or students who may be citizens but have undocumented family members, according to the release.

SU’s Department of Public Safety officers will not enforce federal immigration laws and will not inquire on a student’s immigration status.

“We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for all students that supports them in succeeding inside and outside the classroom,” said M. Dolan Evanovich, senior vice president for enrollment and the student experience, in the release. “We will continue to work to provide our students with the support and resources they need in this uncertain time.”
