Syracuse and Louisiana State will kick off their game on Sept. 26 at noon in the Carrier Dome, SU announced on Monday.
The game against the Tigers (1-0, 1-0 Southeastern) is the first in a home-and-home series and will be televised on either ABC or ESPN. SU (2-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast) will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2017 to complete the second game of the home and home.
“We talk to our kids about always stepping up to the plate and taking challenges,” Orange head coach Scott Shafer said the day SU announced the series, “and the opportunity to see an (ACC) school take on an SEC opponent in the Dome in 2015 is what it’s all about.
“Life being short, bring it on.”
After the No. 13 Tigers’ first game of the season against McNeese State was rained out, LSU beat Mississippi State, 21-19. Running back Leonard Fournette, considered a Heisman Trophy candidate, ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries. LSU will play No. 18 Auburn on Saturday, its last game before heading to the Carrier Dome. SU plays its third of four straight home games against Central Michigan on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
