Syracuse football recruiting: Devon Clarke tweets indicate safety won’t join Class of 2016
Class of 2016 safety Devon Clarke, who announced his commitment to Syracuse Wednesday on Twitter, seems to no longer be joining the Orange. The typical #OrangeRevolution tweets from the SU coaching and recruiting staff that follow a commitment were not present. Clarke has since taken down his tweet that announced his verbal to SU.
On Thursday morning, Clarke issued a series of tweets that indicate he’ll no longer be coming to SU. The circumstances as to why are still unclear, but the three-star safety seemed to be disappointed.
Feels like I'm not good enough

He also retweeted a message that read, “Well Syracuse just missed a great safety.” Four defensive backs, including safeties Will Harper and Scoop Bradshaw, are already members of the class.
Clarke’s commitment would’ve been the third verbal for SU in three days. Cornerback Monquavion Brinson and defensive end Jamal Holloway both pledged to the Orange in the preceding days. Syracuse stands at 14 members in its Class of 2016, including Class of 2015 holdover Brandon Ginnetti.
