Syracuse is installing a new surface for the Carrier Dome, SU Athletics announced in a release on Tuesday. The installation of a new FieldTurf Classic HD field will begin on Wednesday.

“When we were looking to replace our synthetic field, I wanted to continue our relationship with FieldTurf,” said Pete Sala, SU’s interim director of athletics, in the release.

SU has used FieldTurf for the Ensley Athletic Center and a new track and field facility which is supposed to be finished in July. The Carrier Dome’s AstroTurf was replaced by FieldTurf in 2005.
