Company submits plans to construct student-housing complex in Syracuse’s Outer Comstock neighborhood
A Utah-based development company has submitted its plan to construct a student-housing complex in the Outer Comstock neighborhood in Syracuse.
Innovative Acquisition Group LLC, based in Park City, Utah, has made a proposal to the city establishing three, five-story buildings at the corner of East Brighton Avenue and Thurber Street, according to an April 7 Syracuse.com article. The site is about a five-minute car ride away from campus, according to Google Maps.
The first-floor of the building is reserved for a parking garage for students while the remaining four floors are allocated for apartment units. The area of a complex is estimated to be 19,880-square-feet, according to the Syracuse.com article.
The development company wants permission from the city to amalgamate 11 existing lots on the 17-acre site into three lots and build an apartment building on each one, Syracuse.com reported.
Ben Walsh, deputy commissioner of the Division of Business Development for the city, Patty Lynch, office manager of neighborhood development for the city, and Stephanie Pasquale, deputy commissioner of the division of neighborhood development for the city, all could not be reached for comment.
