University community members gathered in Hendricks Chapel on Oct. 2 to have a discussion about diversity and inclusion on campus. Following the event, those involved in planning it said there needed to be action taken to see results. Click here.

College campuses and cities across the country have worked to make the switch to gender-neutral bathrooms, but SU is lagging behind. Click here.

Alcohol violation increases

Despite campaigns to bring awareness to the dangers of alcohol, the number of referrals for liquor law violations increased by nearly 25 percent from 2012 to 2013, according to Syracuse University’s recently released annual compliance report. Click here.

Playboy

Syracuse University senior Ali Baron is featured in this month’s issue of Playboy Magazine. While out at Faegan’s Pub last semester, two Playboy recruiters for the magazine’s “Girls of the ACC” edition approached her. She set up her photo shoot the next day. Click here.

Marching band kickstarter

The Syracuse University Marching Band began a fundraising campaign through ‘CuseFunder to travel with the SU football team and perform at an away game against the University of Pittsburgh. Click here.

Paint out poverty

Students from Syracuse University’s chapter of Nourish International raised money by throwing paint at banners of the opposing team’s mascot during last week’s football game. They will have another event Saturday. The money they raise will go toward service projects in Uganda. Click here.
