STAFF: With win over Buffalo SU volleyball extends win streak to 4
The Syracuse volleyball team won its fourth consecutive match Tuesday night, beating the University at Buffalo, 3-2, at Alumni Arena. Senior captain Sarah Morton tallied 19 kills, three service aces and 24.5 points in the victory. Morton, the national leader in blocks, had four more against the Bison and posted an impressive .405 hitting percentage (just two errors in 42 attack attempts).
SU sophomore middle blocker Erin Little added 12 kills, while captain Kacie MacTavish posted nine. Freshman setter Laura Homann directed the offense with 47 assists.
Syracuse won the first two sets, but Buffalo stormed back to tie the match at two sets apiece. In the fifth set, the Orange surged in the deciding game, winning 15-10. Morton had six points in the fifth set.
SU looks to extend its winning streak this weekend, when it travels to Dallas, Texas for the Southern Methodist University Tournament. The Orange will play SMU, Texas State University-San Marcos and William & Mary.
