LAX: Orange off to worst start since ’75

For the first time since 1975, the Syracuse men’s lacrosse team is 1-3. The Orange lost 12-11 in overtime against Johns Hopkins on Friday. SU has now lost back-to-back home games for the first time since 1995.

Freshman Mike Leveille scored five goals. SU goalie Jay Pfeifer recorded 14 saves.

Syracuse led most of the game but scored its final goal with 6:37 remaining in regulation. At that point, SU led Hopkins 11-9. Johns Hopkins scored the tying goal with 1:42 left, and Greg Peyser scored an unassisted goal with 1:34 left in overtime for the Hopkins win.

SU next plays at Princeton on March 26 at 1 p.m.
