Syracuse tennis walloped by Darmouth
Three days after a dominating effort over Colgate, in which the Syracuse tennis team won all seven matches, it found itself the recipient of a similar beatdown. The Orange lost 6-1 at Dartmouth on Saturday. No. 2 singles player Victoria Vaynberg was the only SU player to record a point, winning her singles match, 6-2, 6-1. Syracuse begins Big East Conference play on Feb. 4 when it travels to St. John’s.
Valerij Petrulevich set a new Syracuse indoor record for the 800 meters, finishing third at SU’s meet in Illinois. The Orange men finished last out of five teams in the Illinois Invitational. The Orange women finished last out of three teams. Senior Jenna Grimaldi won the women’s high jump, and SU women’s distance runner Leah Folmsbee won the 3,000 meters. Syracuse’s next meet is the SU Invitational on Feb. 5 at Manley Field House.
